We enter Angola through Santa Clara, crossing into a country still little known to most travellers, yet bursting with contrasts, from misty highlands to rugged desert coastlines.
Our first destination is the scenic highland town of Lubango, watched over by the striking Cristo Rei statue, perched high above the valley, a smaller but equally impressive echo of Rioβs Christ the Redeemer. Just outside the town lies the spectacular Fenda da Tundavala, a sheer gorge plunging nearly 1,000 metres into the plains below. The viewpoint offers some of the most dramatic scenery in southern Africa`s vast, silent, and humbling.
From here, we descend the breathtaking Leba Pass, a winding mountain road that snakes its way down through the escarpment to the coastal plains. The drive is legendary with sweeping bends, towering cliffs, and panoramic views at every turn.
Our route continues west to Namibe, where the arid desert meets the Atlantic Ocean. The coastline here is both beautiful and haunting dotted with sandstone cliffs, desert dunes, and remnants of history. Nearby, the Colinas area showcases striking formations and old Cuban-built war trenches, remnants of Angolaβs turbulent past.
Further south lies Tombua, once a busy fishing port, now a quiet, wind-swept town with a sense of timeless isolation. The seafood restaurants of Namibe, still run by Portuguese expats, offer a taste of Angolaβs colonial heritage, fresh seafood, cold beer, and ocean sunsets.
Turning north, the route follows the coastal road to Benguela, one of Angolaβs oldest towns. Its faded colonial buildings, relaxed atmosphere, and palm-lined beaches make it the perfect place to end this incredible journey before looping back inland.
This is a route for true overlanders, remote, wild, and steeped in history. Angola offers adventure at every turn: from mountain passes and desert cliffs to quiet fishing towns and war-time relics. Few places in Africa feel as untouched or as real.

We enter Zambia through Kazangula, crossing into a land of vast open plains, untamed wilderness, and extraordinary natural spectacles. This adventure takes us deep into areas still largely unexplored, a true Overlanding expedition across the heart of wild Zambia.
Our first stop is the legendary Liuwa Plains National Park, where thousands of wildebeest and zebra move across the endless grasslands in one of Africaβs least-known but most dramatic migrations. This remote park offers not only the spectacle of the herds but also a raw sense of space and solitude, where the horizon seems infinite and the only company is nature itself.
Next, we journey to Kafue National Park, Zambiaβs oldest and largest reserve. Its floodplains, rivers, and woodlands teem with life from elephant and buffalo to lion, leopard, and wild dog. The diversity and sheer scale of Kafue make it a paradise for adventurers seeking unspoiled wilderness.
Finally, we make our way to Kasanka National Park, home to one of the most breathtaking natural events on Earth, the annual fruit bat migration. Every November, over 10 million straw-coloured fruit bats fill the skies at dusk, creating an awe-inspiring spectacle found nowhere else on the planet.
